(1982)
Sotto gli occhi dell’assassino; also Tenebre, Unsane, Tenebres, Shadow; shooting title: Dell’assassino/Under The Killer’s Eyes
Mystery writer (Anthony Franciosa) arrives in Rome on a book tour to promote his latest book Tenebrae. While he is in Rome, someone is killing people and stuffing wads of torn pages from Franciosa’s book in their mouths. Since he is a mystery writer, he decides to solve the case himself. Tenebrae also stars Dari Nicoldi as his personal assistant, and John Saxon as his agent. The film has a fantastic crane shot up one side of a house and down the other, all done in one shot. Try to rent or buy Tenebrae and not Unsane, which it was also released under. Unsane is chopped to pieces and you’ll miss alot. Many consider Tenebrae to be Argento’s best film.
